Description |
Desoxo-narchinol A is an orally active and potent anti-inflammatory agent. Desoxo-narchinol A can be isolated from the roots and rhizomes of Nardostachys jatamansi. Desoxo-narchinol A can be used for septic shock and inflammatory diseases research[1][2][3].
|
In Vitro |
Desoxo-narchinol A inhibits tissue injury and production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α, in the liver and lung[2]. Desoxo-narchinol A (0-500 nM, 24 h) inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators, such as iNOS and its derivative NO, COX-2, PGE2, IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α and H3 protein acetylation in murine peritoneal macrophages[2]. Desoxo-narchinol A inhibits LPS-induced activation of p38 in murine macrophages[2].
|
In Vivo |
Desoxo-narchinol A (0-0.5 mg/kg, IP, once) dramatically reduced mortality in a murine LPS-induced endotoxin shock model[2]. Desoxo-narchinol A (50 mg/kg, PO, once) shows the oral bioavailability of 18.1% in rats and 28.4% in mice[3]
